Security
Our website employs Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure data transmission between customers’ browsers and payment platforms. Your browser will be displaying a padlock when viewing any website page where sensitive data is entered.
Stripe utilises tokenisation which replaces sensitive data, such as credit card numbers, with unique tokens generated by a secure system. The tokens themselves cannot be used to carry out fraudulent transactions or be reverse-engineered to reveal the original payment data.
Our website authentication uses multi-factor methods to greatly improve payment security by adding an extra layer of protection against unauthorised transactions. This protection is both at the user login level and at payment processing.
Stripe is compliant to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a set of security standards designed to ensure that all businesses that process, store, or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. PCI DSS compliance helps businesses protect customer data and minimise the risk of data breaches.
As part of the Shopify platform, there are regular releases of security updates and patches to address known vulnerabilities, bugs, or other security issues in their products.
