Pairing, Syncing & Updating Dermapen 4 via Bluetooth
Following the first-time power on, or when connecting the Dermapen 4 to another smart device (separate from the original device the pen registration was set up on), Dermapen 4 will need to be paired via Bluetooth and synced with the Dermapen app.
Sync & Update Your Dermapen 4
1. Make sure the Dermapen 4 is turned off. Then check Bluetooth is enabled on the smart device being used.
2. Log in to the app.
3. The app should open on the products page, which will list your available pens
4. Find the required Dermapen 4 in the list (the serial number in the list will match the serial number on the back of the Dermapen 4 under the battery lid). 
5. Turn the Dermapen 4 ON and check that it’s in pairing mode.
6. In the app, select Connect and Sync.
7. The app will display Pen synchronising. Do NOT power OFF the Dermapen 4 while updates are in progress. Interruptions will require the device to be re-synced to resume normal use. It’s recommended to use the Power Adaptor during this process. 
8. When the app displays Pen successfully updated, select Done to complete the syncing and updating process. 
During Bluetooth Syncing / Updating
1.While updating, the Dermapen 4 will display a blue Status LED, a Sync Symbol, a Bluetooth Symbol, and a spiralling Speed Indicator Ring.
2. Once successfully updated, the Dermapen 4 is ready to be used.
Update Notifications
If it has been more than 2 months since the last update of the Dermapen 4, the Dermapen 4 will create reminders by emitting an audible tone, displaying a Sync/Updating Symbol, and displaying the time remaining to update on the Depth Indication Digits (in days, or in hours if less than 48 hours remaining) Eg. Pen will display ‘D28’ when you have 28 days remaining.
Sync/update the Dermapen 4, or press the on / off button to continue operation. The device will operate after approximately 25 seconds BEFORE the reminder period has elapsed.
Once the sync/update reminder period has lapsed, the Dermapen 4 will:
Display an orange Status LED
Display a pulsing Sync/Update Symbol
Display ‘SYN’ on the Depth Indication Digits
Emit a double tone
